The ACP partners with universities, the BZS, and the BAMZ to host courses for university students and conservation professionals. The ACP also supports conservation management courses that attract scientists and policy makers from around the world.
The ACP also underwrites training initiatives that give college students from Bermuda the US and Canada the opportunity to complement their academic training with conservation field work in their chosen area of concentration: marine conservation research, conservation animal husbandry, and conservation educational outreach.
The International Course on the Biology and Conservation of Sea Turtles
A 2-week course taught annually at BAMZ that builds regional capacity for the management of endangered sea turtles by providing training to university students, biologists, conservation officers and resource managers from countries throughout the Western Atlantic/Caribbean region.
The ACP Internship Programs
James W. Babcock Internship for American Students
Two six-week internship programs give a US (1 student), undergraduate or graduate student the opportunity to take part in research and monitoring activities in a range of conservation research projects, to experience hands-on animal husbandry, or to participate in the delivery of classes and field trips focusing on conservation at the BAMZ.

Joe and Claire Smetana Scholarship
This award is available to senior undergraduate students in the US and from Bermuda; graduate students; post-doctoral students; Bermudian and US scientists.
The Titus Family Award
The Titus Family Award is a needs based annual grant awarded to Bermudian students; assisting in furthering their education and/or training in environmentally related fields.
Bermuda Zoological Society (BZS) Education
The ACP supports educational programs, which provide critical environmental awareness and scientific development opportunities for students across age groups. BZS is the leading independent provider of environmental and science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) educational programming for all of Bermuda’s children, as well as providing opportunities for visiting college and university students.
The BZS currently has 5 full-time educator positions and one administrator providing environmental and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) educational programming for all Bermuda’s school children. The team provides in-class teaching, Bermuda Aquarium and Zoo (BAMZ) opportunities, and field trips to all age groups from preschool through senior school. Approximately 75% of their offerings are provided to Bermuda Public School System BPSS students. The remainder is to Private and Home School students. In total, BZS provides over 18,000 hours of experiences for student per year, in addition to providing professional development opportunities to teachers in both science / natural history
Importantly, the BZS also offers educational opportunities to the Bermuda College and a number of visiting College and University groups from the United States. Additionally, the BZS education program provides volunteer and internship opportunities to Bermudian, US and Canadian students which range in age from 14 years up, with most internships being offered to university students.
